FAQ

1. What is Ultrasound?

Answer: Ultrasound is a non-invasive, and painless exam that produces pictures of the inside of the body using sound waves. Ultrasound images are captured in real-time, so they are able to show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs.

2. How does Ultrasound work?

Answer:  Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves the use of a small transducer and ultrasound gel that gets placed directly on the skin. Sound waves are transmitted from the transducer, through the gel, and into the body. The transducer collects the sound waves that bounced back and a computer then uses those sound waves to generate an image

3. Is Ultrasound Safe?

Answer: Ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation, so there is no radiation exposure to the patient or baby. Over 30 years of extensive research have proven that ultrasound does cause any harm to mother and baby when done by a medically trained professional such as your physician or an ultrasound technician.
