Pregnancy comes with plenty of questions, and your ultrasound experience shouldn’t add more uncertainty. From when to schedule your ultrasound and how to prepare to gender testing, 3D/4D imaging, appointments, guests, and keepsakes, we’ve gathered answers to the questions expecting parents ask us most – so you can arrive feeling prepared, comfortable, and excited to see your little one.

How early can I get an ultrasound?
With our state-of-the-art technology we can you as early as 5 weeks.
How soon can I learn my babys gender?
We offer a gender dna test that allows you to learn your babys gender as early as 6 weeks
When is the best time to schedule a 3D/4D?
We recommend you schedule your 3D/4D when you’re between 26 weeks – 32 weeks. At that point, baby’s features are fully developed, and babies still have space inside the amniotic sac.
Is ultrasound safe?
Ultrasounds are considered very safe, effective and non-invasive even in a non-diagnostic setting like ours. Ultrasound uses sound waves rather than radiation to take a closer look at your baby. They have been used for decades without evidence of causing any harm to mom or baby.
How many photos come in my session?
We send you all the images and videos from your session to your email address the same day. If you would like to print any colors in b&w or color, we are happy to accommodate you with that add on service.
What is your cancelation. rescheduling policy?
You can modify your appointment up to 48 hours leading up to it. In the event you cancel or reschedule outside of that grace period, you forfeit your deposit of $25.00.
What do you recommend I do before my appointment?
Blood draws: We recommend you come well hydrated and advise you to drink 30 oz of water 30 minutes prior to your appointment. We would need a full bladder to perform the ultrasound prior to conducting the blood test.
3D/4D: We recommend you book your appointment when you’re between 26-32 weeks, choose a time when you feel your baby is most active, and drink at least 80 oz of water every day for two weeks leading up to your appointment. On the day of your appointment please bring ice cold water with you and eat protein 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
How many photos come in my session?
It varies and depends on the package you receive. It can range from 3-12 photos with anywhere between 20-60 digital images.
How long is each session?
We like to take our time for each session, so you won’t feel rushed. Sessions can range anywhere between 15-30 minutes.
What if baby is not in a good position?
We understand that babies have a mind of their own so in the event your baby is sleeping or just not ready for their photoshoot, we have a couple of options depending on the package you decide to book.
What type of ultrasound machine do you use?
Our state-of-the-art GE Voluson is the number one choice for prenatal care throughout the globe.
Do you conduct your scans with a transvaginal or over the abdomen?
All our scans are preformed using a trans-abdominal probe.
Do the Heartbeat Plush Animals come with the recording of my baby’s heartbeat?
Yes.
Is it possible to purchase a heartbeat plush animal without doing an ultrasound?
No. To record the sound of your baby’s heartbeat, an ultrasound must be performed.
Will I be able to take my plush animal home the same day as my appointment or will you ship it to me?
Yes, you will be able to take it home with you the day of your appointment. In the event we do not have the plush animal you wish to buy in stock the day of your appointment, we can ship it to you at an additional cost, or you can come to pick it up once a new shipment arrives.
Do you only have only location?
Yes
Where are you located?
We are located at 11600 West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles, Ca. 90064. Inside the Modern Institute of Surgery building.
Do you have parking?
Yes. During weekdays we have several meter parking. On weekends you can use the building’s parking lot at no additional charge.
Do I have to arrive at my appointment on a full bladder?
We ask our expecting mothers who are in their first trimester to come with a full bladder. All our expecting mothers who are beyond their first trimester are not required to arrive with a full bladder.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes, we can accommodate you on the same day subject to our availability
I don’t want to know the gender of my baby at my appointment. Is it possible to put it in an envelope?
Yes. We can put it in an envelope or email it to the person in charge of planning your gender reveal party.

How soon can I hear my baby’s heartbeat?
In most cases we can listen to your baby’s heartbeat starting at 5 weeks.
Do I get photos printed at my visit?
Yes, absolutely! Our strip of ultrasound photos are only $12.00 + tax and if you would like color photos, they are only $20.00 + tax and we offer a variety of sizes.
I am not sure when to schedule my 3D/4D?
We recommend you schedule your 3D/4D when you are between 26-32 weeks. Schedule it during a time when your baby is more active.
